Pensions and Advocacy

Manly-Lota RSL has a Pension and Welfare section to assist all members of the Defence Forces of Australia both male and female, widows, and some Allied Countries who served with Australia in certain conflicts.
This function is carried out by Mark GALLAGHER who is a DVA qualified Level 2 Advocacy and Wellbeing Advocate.  Mark has lived in Manly/Lota for 20 plus years and joined the Sub-Branch shortly after settling on the Bayside.

 Mark’s Australian military service includes:

  • 40 plus years Australian Regular Army and Reserve service.
  • Four years seconded to the RAAF.
  • Living in an RAN Wardroom.

Mark is also a member of the Legacy Club of Brisbane and has a special interest the welfare of Veterans Widows.

 In addition to his DVA qualifications Mark has a Graduate Diploma in Law and is a Queensland JP (Qual.).  Mark has worked professionally in Veterans Law and Federal Law Enforcement.
